It's rare to find a dog savy person on the other end of a leash and that can be a recipe for disaster on a flexi when you mix in traffic or other dogs around.Laura and The Corgi, Toller, & Duckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06437492165453445126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8706551123126332174.post-31815207426020866592011-12-03T12:20:22.288-05:002011-12-03T12:20:22.288-05:00Excellent example of a potential use for training....Excellent example of a potential use for training. It's always interesting to see when it works as a step to off leash and when it doesn't (my dogs....they could feel the leash! But they also could feel the longline when it weighed them down or they stepped on it).

It's also interesting the prevalence of using a retractable leash on competition obedience as a way to inflict a correction from far away or to "make" the dog do something.Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13500652686807039501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8706551123126332174.post-10993138502739177012011-12-03T12:06:38.589-05:002011-12-03T12:06:38.589-05:00They can be a good stepping stone in training. I couldn't trust her to not run off and visit, plus all the parks have leash laws. A few jumps and a flexi-lead and we could play in a new distracting environment. I tried a long line, but it didn't work at all!!Kiyi Kiyihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08318930293008856026noreply@blogger.com
